Success stories: the migration of the Municipality of Motta Visconti
We are happy to share a new Utixo-branded success concerning the migration of the municipality of Motta Visconti, which further reinforces our strategy of focusing on the delivery of cloud infrastructure services and the Microsoft 365 product.
Utixo is increasingly present on the Public Administration, for the provision of high-value professional Cloud Services through the MEPA platform.
The Municipality of Motta Visconti (MI) chose Utixo to carry out a complete migration from Aruba to Microsoft 365, also entrusting us with the supply of all the necessary licenses, for a total value of about 10,000 €.
This collaboration once again confirms the growing trust that Public Administration places in Microsoft’s advanced and secure Cloud Solutions, supported by our technical advice and turnkey approach.
The mail migration process without any disruption
One of the most complex challenges is to manage the migration between two mail systems so that there is no loss of data and no impact on users’ work either, a challenge that requires in-depth knowledge of mail systems, protocols and years of experience as well as established methodologies.
Utixo has a unique methodology that allows the migration of mail users from the old system to the new, either by individual user or by user groups. This makes it possible to schedule the migration and, during the transition period, use both the old and the new system at the same time.
We can also manage hybrid mail systems such as, for example, the simultaneous use of Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace for the same domain.
With the municipality of Motta Visconti, the migration of users and reconfiguration of devices (PCs, smartphones) was planned precisely.
Protection of the mail system, NIS2
The mail system contains a large amount of sensitive data, and because of this, adequate protection is necessary.
A mail system such as Aruba CANNOT be considered secure, as it lacks the minimum intrusion detection systems and uses outdated authentication protocols.
For this reason, switching to systems such as Microsoft 365 is essential to increase the level of security and meet the requirements of NIS2.
In addition, a perimeter mail system (MX FILTERING) has been implemented that filters threats and blocks them even before they reach the mail system. The service used is E-Mail Security Suite As A Service based on the Libraesva product.
Strategic focus on Microsoft 365
In the 2025 plan, Utixo aims to further strengthen its position as the partner of choice for Microsoft 365 by offering not only licenses but mainly value-added services, such as:
- Migration from other systems (e.g., Aruba, Google Workspace, cPanel)
- Tenant Management (Enter ID, Exchange)
- Training and technical support
- Centralized permit and security management
- Integration with advanced collaboration and productivity tools
